Why Honey Coconuts

You’re probably wondering… what… or …who… is Honey Coconuts…

The little E calls me Honey.

The little E calls me Honey.

That’s me.

You know how you come across people who have those awesome nick-names, you’re just like… I want one… but you can’t just give yourself a nick-name, because THAT’S NOT HOW IT WORKS? So you secretly call yourself, like SweetHoneyBee but no one knows… and one day you say it out loud, only to be greeted with looks that clearly say, “Nutter.” Ahem. It’s nothing like that (well…).

Then one day, you are blessed with a baby. That baby inevitably learns how to talk. And nickname.

Every mommy is special, and shares an incredible bond with their baby. I’m such a special mommy that my little E calls me Honey.

The supreme giver of Nicknames and Ruler of all that is Playgroundy.

I have an awesome nickname. Little E calls me Honey, several of his friends do the same.
When he was learning to talk, we lived with his grandma, whom Daddy called, “Mom.”
Daddy would refer to me as “Honey.”
Little E started calling me, you guessed it, “Honey.”

*really bad dancing* I GOT A NICKNAME!

The Coconuts part is an interesting story, too. But it’s not quite as heartwarmingly family friendly, involves my husband and, as you guessed it, Coconuts. Maybe one day I will share…

Together, we are a baking team!

Together, we are a baking team!

We are a retired military family; I am the proud wife (and Caregiver, but that’s a whole’nother realm) to an Iraqi War Veteran. My hubby is the greatest man I’ve ever had the honor of loving and would not be the happy, slightly nutty person I am today without him and the experiences we’ve had together.

Take a moment today to thank a Veteran, Active Duty Soldier, Reserve Soldier, and especially their spouse!!

Thank you for all the sacrifices...

Thank you for all the sacrifices…

Our little journey has taken us to Michigan, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Colorado and Louisiana.

We are loving our little slice of country life in Louisiana. Our nest is situated on a wooded acre in the boonies where I’m learning some fantastic recipes from my local friends!

Despicable Me is my favorite movie.

Somehow, I didn’t grow up to become Ariel from The Little Mermaid.
EVEN THOUGH I KNOW EVERY SONG!

This might make me feel better about not being a mermaid...

Have any questions, or a specific recipe request? I would love to hear from you!

xoxo,
